5050 Brewing Co. & Drunken Monkey Sushi Reopening

Dear friends,

Monday around noon, Nevada County shared safety rules and regulations and announced that they would be allowing restaurants to open Tuesday, May 12, 2020, based on adherence to the aforementioned rules.

First of all, we are excited to welcome back our friends, local community, long time customers, and anyone looking forward to a fresh beer and a meal outside of their home. These are unprecedented times and while we’ve been building our takeout offerings at 5050 Brewing and Drunken Monkey Sushi, we know that at some point, restaurant business will return and we want to be there for you when it does.

The most important thing for us is reopening in a way that protects our staff, our customers, and the experiences we want to provide. This is not something we take lightly and not something that we plan to rush into. Both 5050 Brewing and Drunken Monkey Sushi have been in Truckee for more than 10 years and we plan to be here for another 10+ years. This is not about today or tomorrow, but the future of our businesses, and our community in Truckee.

We will continue takeout/To-go food because we see a demand for that and we don’t anticipate that demand going away. We’ll continue to update our offerings, and our process to make our To-go the best possible experience.

We plan to open our restaurants for dine-in service in the coming weeks. The most important thing we can do is to open safely and to provide the best possible experience for our guests and our staff.  We’re working with our teams to dial our process and our current plan is to offer outdoor dining for both 5050 Brewing and Drunken Monkey beginning Friday, May 22nd. We continue to evolve our processes and layout for the best possible experience and to ensure that we are meeting both the County’s and own standards. We will work towards announcing a date for indoor dining at both establishments as quickly as possible.

We commit to keeping you posted, and to open soon, when we can do it right. We’re thinking long term, which is hard in these challengin times, but it’s how we operate. We’re in this for another decade or two...at least. For those of you who have ordered takeout in the past months, we thank you for your support. For those of you who have been waiting for us to re-open, we appreciate your patience and we’re almost there. And finally, for those of you who have suggestions or feedback, we want to hear it, so please reach out to andy@truckeecraftventures.com or alicia@truckeecraftventures.com.

See you soon!

-Andy and Alicia Barr.
